About me
LiBird, pronounced “Lee Bird”, was my childhood family nickname. The name brings back happy memories of growing up in rural western Kentucky where I was surrounded by rolling hills, farmland, and flowing rivers. The beauty and wild elements of nature around me helped shape my love for the botanic structures that are found in my ceramic work today.
Fast forward, past college, a move to New Orleans, and many years of working and building a family, I find myself able to explore the never-ending possibilities of hand building with clay. I love creating pieces covered with vines, flowers, pods and other elements found in nature, and some found in my imagination. A best day for me is one started by opening a kiln full of glossy botanic vessels that are ready to share a table adorned in family linens and fresh flowers.
